
This year, several Ile Omode alums graduated from college, with one finishing a graduate degree. Two alums completed their studies locally at state colleges. Nkosi Moore (c’13) completed his degree in zoology from San Francisco State. He is the first alum to study zoology, and is working with Triumvirate Environmental. Halim Muhammad (c’12) earned his BS in industrial engineering. He has launched a startup, Syntaxs Coding, providing instruction in coding. Howard University graduated two of our alums, both from the class of 2014. Both students are members of Howard University's Karsh STEM Scholars program, for students groomed to pursue doctoral studies after college. Adeya Wyatt earned a B.S. in chemical engineering with a concentrating in biomedicine and biotechnology. She will begin at Columbia University in the fall, where she’ll pursue Ph.D. studies in bioengineering. Khukheper Awakoaiye graduated with a degree in biology (minor in chemistry and psychology) begins a research position in neurology at UCSF while applying for medical school. Isis Fuller, the first Ile Omode alum to earn a graduate degree, completed her second graduate degree, this one at UCLA in African Studies.
