Huey P. Newton Oratorical Festival
Begun in 2016 and named in honor of Huey P. Newton, the Oratorical Festival showcases the amazing talents of Ile Omode students. The festival was created to help every student find their voice in any number of forms — spoken word, singing, dramatic interpretation, original poetry, and more. It is an extension of our literary and performing arts program, believing that our culture is passed on through our literature, and that culture lives in the art of expression.

Every year our students research, write, and deliver speeches honoring the words and legacy of African and African American leaders. Watch them bring history to life.
