Malia Jenkins (c'17) now entering her Sophomore year at Howard University, is writing for Howard's newspaper. Jenkins graduated from Bishop O'Dowd in 2021 with admissions to various colleges and chose to study political science at Howard University. She is the News and Politics Reporter for the Hilltop, Howard University's newspaper. Since the start of the school year, reporters have been developing and submitting articles weekly. Jenkins first byline was published on August 15th and discusses The Supreme Court's upcoming decision regarding whether affirmative action in college admission is constitutional. Amongst Jenkins's other accomplishments, Jenkins is participating in a fall internship with the McCain Institute for International Leadership under the Global Leadership team in Washington, D.C. The institute strives to assist leaders worldwide in developing effective grassroots organizations to combat issues facing their region.
