On October 19, 2022, Ile Omode 5th Grader Ziora Mmachi Bender-deMoll and her mother Nkeiruka Oruche donated and autographed copies of their 'Notable & Notorious Nigerian Women' Coloring Book to students and staff. They were also joined by Ziora's Grandmother, Nnenze Oruche, and shared some traditional Nigerian snacks and treats (Meat pie, puff puff, and chin chin) with everyone. The book donations were made possible by individuals through their Kickstarter campaign. Notable & Notorious Nigerian Women is an all-ages coloring book filled with 28 illustrations, and bios featuring 33 extraordinary Nigerian women from the past and the present. In addition and before their December 18 departure for their year-long homeland visit to Nigeria, they provided special individual gifts to each teaching staff. We wish them a wonderful experience and look forward to seeing them upon their return.
