Mama Carlynn Wooten-Scott

Mama Carlynn Wooten-Scott is a wife and mother of four children, three of whom are students of Ile Omode School. She is an advocate for culturally centered education and works with various groups advancing quality education for black youth, including the State of Black Oakland (SOBO) Education Work Group.

She is the owner of SupportED, an organization dedicated to providing academic support and mentorship for students and families. Mama Carlynn has over fifteen years experience working with non-profits and community-based organizations in capacity building, grant writing, and resource development.

As the fundraising coordinator, she is dedicated to supporting the growth and sustainability of Ile Omode School. She is a graduate of Clark Atlanta University and holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in political science. She also teaches communicative arts through the use of hip hop and is the coach of the Elementary boys (grades 3-5) basketball team. Go Panthers!
