Oratorical Festival was Huge
 Tuesday, April 2, 2019
On Sunday, March 10, families and community supporters packed the theater at Bishop O'Dowd High School to experience the range of talent from Ile Omode students at nearly every grade level. The Oratorical Festival, started by several teachers, features drama, spoken word, reenacted historical speeches, and rap - and always brings the roof down.
Students in the 4th through 8th grades composed original rap songs, both individual and in the case of the 4th and 5th graders, as a class. The 4th and 5th graders created a rap cypher that featured every one of the students.
One of the event's highlights was a original rap written by Amyrah (8th) and performed to Too Short's "Blow the Whistle". The performance garnered social media hits, included being tagged by Too Short himself.
